The idea of online school can present a real challenge for someone who hasn’t been in school for a while or for someone who has never done online classes before. Learning disabilities and family responsibilities can also make online learning all the more daunting. World Education has created a new training course specifically to help you navigate the world of online education programs and they are giving you access to it for free.
You might ask yourself, why do I need to take an online class on taking online classes? The answer is knowledge. If you’ve never worked from home, learned on your own, or always struggled with getting work done on time, chances are there is some really good information in this Learning Online course that will benefit you.
The Learning Online course contains four separate modules with short and concise sections that get straight to the point and do not waste time over-explaining things. Here is a short overview of the modules you will have access to in the Learning Online course.
Self-Care for Learning
Taking care of yourself is the most important part of online learning. If you are not taking care of your physical and mental needs, you are not going to be able to work to the best of your abilities. This module will cover the importance of stress reduction, sleep, breathing techniques, and creating healthy routines to implement throughout your day to help you stay focused.
Space, Time, and Technology
As with all things, having the proper space to work is imperative to success. World Education is a work-at-your-own-pace program, meaning you will be responsible for managing your time effectively. This module helps with creating a schedule to stick to in order to finish your program in the time frame you want.
Everyone learns and absorbs information differently. This module will give brief overviews of different learning styles and strategies that are most effective for you.
Communication and Community
Just because you are learning online does not mean that you are ‘on your own’. This module emphasizes that you have professors and peers available for help and general discussion. The entire Learning Online course encourages people to engage in discussion and reach out to others for help and support often.
